Often times, people are apprehensive about bringing a pet into their home because they worry about the mess that may tag along with their new companion. Also, many who already own pets resort to keeping him/her out back for most of the day to eliminate worries of their house looking unkempt!

Although it may seem that pets make your house a mess, there are plenty of ways to keep your home clean while keeping your pets indoors with you!

Here are a few tips, courtesy of eastvalleytribune.com, that are sure to help keep your home clean!
  • Vacuum regularly. You should be vacuuming your furniture twice a week if your pet doesn't shed often. However, if your pet does shed often, you may need to vacuum daily.
  • Bathe and groom your pet often. Keeping your pet clean will help keep your home clean longer!
  • Use stain resistant fabrics. Stay away from silk and velvet and stick to synthetic fabrics!
  • Skip carpets. Carpets tend to absorb odors and trap pet hair.
  • Set up a “pet room” near the entrance of your home. If you pet enjoys playing outside, have an area dedicated to your pet near the entrance of your home where you can clean them up before bringing them back into the house.
